Onondaga Community College
In 2010 the Mary Porcari Brady Fund expanded its reach to Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. Hundreds of micro-grants later, in the Spring of 2023 the MPB Fund and the OCC School of Nursing were pleased to announce that the Binghamton, N.Y.-based Visions Federal Credit Union had donated $5,000 to the MPB Fund at Onondaga CC.
This marked the first outside grant dedicated to the MPB Fund at OCC and stands as a model for enhancing and supplementing the work of the MPB Fund.
Also in the spring of 2023, OCC Nursing School Leadership were able to surprise students with micro-grants to cover out-of-pocket expenses for mandatory items including scrubs, shoes and stethoscopes.

In April, 2023, students at the Onondaga Community College School of Nursing gathered after being surprised with micro-grants from the Mary Porcari Brady Fund to cover mandatory out-of-pocket expenses for scrubs, shoes, stethoscopes and other equipment.
Today is the best day! I’m writing to share that Cindy and I started the first distribution of reimbursement checks for uniforms and nursing kits to our students – and it’s all because of your Mom’s inspiration and all of you!
